Virtual as-builts / BIM Generation
The use of point cloud datasets for the accurate and efficient capture and modelling of projects/spaces is unmatched. Using point cloud data sets, as-built conditions can be quickly and correctly modelled at BIM level accuracy to reflect the actual site conditions. No longer do as-builts need to be generated in 2D and without precise levels of information when the data captured is an exact digital replica of the space. BIM level modelling allows for a ‘digital twin asset’ to be modelled, which can then be used as a single source of truth for any project specific amendments/reference or future asset management. This process can also be used in conjunction with construction processes such as ‘clash detection’ to assess the accuracy of the installed elements on-site against the original design intent.
